Compliance
Manage and configure data residency and compliance settings for your DocuChat organization.
DocuChat provides data residency controls to help organizations comply with data protection regulations and requirements.
In Settings > Organization, enable the Enforce data residency in the EU toggle to restrict chatbot settings that could potentially cause data to be processed outside of the European Union. When enabled:
- Administrators will be prevented from selecting AI models hosted outside the EU
- Features that may transfer data to non-EU regions will be disabled
This enforcement helps ensure compliance with:
- GDPR data transfer requirements
- EU data protection regulations
- Industry-specific data residency mandates
If any existing chatbots have settings that violate data residency rules (such as using a US-based AI model), you will receive an error notification and a CSV file detailing which chatbots are affected and why they are non-compliant. Review and update the flagged chatbots manually and then try to enable the data residency enforcement again.
